Artisan Onboarding
Share your gifts with the sanctuary community and earn residual income
Welcome, artisan! This guide walks you through becoming an artisan on AUDHDITIES—someone who can list products, earn money, and build a following.
Before You Begin
Apply for Artisan Status
- Log in to your dashboard
- Click “Become an Artisan” in the sidebar
- Fill out the application:
- Portfolio URL: Link to your work
- Creative categories: Writing, art, code, music, etc.
- Description: Tell us about your creative journey
- Residual pledge: 0-50% of a ware's profit to the residual pool (default 0)
- Covenant pledge: 0-50% of your own share of a sale to the covenant pool (optional, default 0)
- Submit for review
Residual pledge: the share of a ware's profit — the 90% left after the fee — that you pledge to the residual pool, which pays every artisan on the platform. The pool also receives 30% of every sale's fee, whatever you set here.
Covenant pledge: a voluntary slice of your own share of a sale, paid on to every opted-in user equally. Set in the Sanctum, changeable anytime, and never taken from a pool payout.
Wait for Approval
Applications are reviewed within 1-3 business days. You will receive an email when approved.
While waiting: Prepare your first product! Brainstorm ideas, gather materials, write descriptions.
Set Up Payments (Stripe Connect)
- Go to Artisan Dashboard → Payments
- Click “Connect Stripe Account”
- Follow Stripe's onboarding (takes 5-10 minutes)
- Verify your identity and bank details
Stripe handles all complex financial compliance. We never see your banking info.
Create Your First Product
- Go to Artisan Dashboard → Products
- Click “New Product”
- Fill in:
- Title: Clear, descriptive, captivating
- Description: What is it? Why buy it?
- Price tiers: Community (discount), Ally (standard), Corporate (premium)
- Residual pledge: 0-50% of this ware's profit to the residual pool
- Media: Images, previews, downloads
- Save as draft or publish immediately
The Economics: platform fee fixed at 10% — 70% of it funds the machine, 30% returns to the residual pool. The remaining 90% is the ware's profit: your pledge comes out of it, and what is left divides equally among the ware's contributors, you among them.
Add Contributors (Optional)
If others helped create this product, add them to share residuals:
- Edit your product
- Go to “Contributors” tab
- Add by username or email
- They will be notified and must accept
There is no percentage to assign: whatever is left of the ware's profit after your pledge divides equally among its contributors, you among them. And standing as a contributor once, ever, puts a vessel on the residual pool's roster for life — the “background actor dividend.”
Publish and Promote
- Set product to “Published”
- Share on your social channels
- Add to your profile gallery
- Consider a launch discount for early supporters
Your first sale is a milestone! Share it with your community and celebrate.
Earnings Breakdown
A ware with three contributors, its residual pledge at 50%, every covenant dial at 50%.
This one sale puts $48.00 in the residual pool and $22.50 in the covenant pool; $7.00 leaves. At the defaults — both dials at 0, one contributor — it is $3.00 to the pool, $7.00 to the machine, and $90.00 whole to the maker.
